      DSV are recruiting for an Inventory Supervisor. Working in our Peterborough location.

      Primary Purpose of the role

      To manage the inventory control system, maintain product data, rectify miscalculations, review and analyse the result of operations, report findings to management and make recommendations for improvement as necessary.

      Key Tasks & Duties

      • Conduct daily briefs to ensure all stock controllers have specific tasks.

      • Ensure all stock functions are carried out on a daily basis as agreed with the site management.

      • Carry Out RTW and 1 to 1 meetings.

      • Be the WMS specialist in the stock team and train new starters in WMS functions.

      • Investigating problems and analysing root causes

      • Daily cycle counting as per PI schedule.

      • Daily Putaway and outbound checks to ensure operation is following correct processes.

      • Liaising with Operations team on warehouse queries including nil picks and stock discrepancy’s

      • Daily empty location checks to ensure all locations in DC are checked within a 10-working day period.

      • Fixed pickface set up as and when required, ensuring all system data is correct I.E max caps etc.

      • Training the operation on inventory functions and new WMS processes as and when required

      • Carrying out consolidation to ensure DC is always at maximum efficiency.

      • Process back to stock orders as requested by customer / operation.

      • Carry out adjustments as requested by supervisor / customer.

      • Populate error logs with any discrepancies found during the check process and escalate to site management team.

      • General Operations support when requested.

      Responsibilities

      • Understand and comply with all relevant Company rules, agreements, policies, procedures and with all relevant legislative requirements and codes of practice.

      • Ensure Company business is treated in the strictest confidence and not disclosed to persons outside the Company.

      • Act in a professional manner, ensure good working relationships are always maintained and promote a good image of the Company.

      • Maintain and comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards, to be aware of the Occupational Health & Safety Management System, OHSAS18001 and to appreciate the responsibility you must adhere to the respective procedures.

      • Be aware that the Company operates a Quality Assurance system ISO 9001:2008 and adhere to the respective procedures.

      • Ensure a good standard of housekeeping through observance of relevant Company policies and ensure that work areas are secure and locked when unoccupied.

      • Where appropriate challenge and determine reasons for presence on site of any unauthorised person.

      • Attend any development training as required in compliance with the Company’s commitment to the Investors in People standard.

      Education & Qualifications

      GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

      Experience

      Warehouse experience (in any capacity)

      Previous stock control or investigatory experience

      Specialist Knowledge & Skills

      Understanding of basic health and safety principles

      Use own initiative to pro-actively suggestion improvements in procedures.

      Able to plan and manage own time

      Ability to challenge health and safety failures

      Interpersonal & Communication Skills

      Good verbal and written English skills

      Other

      Good IT skills

      Reach truck licence
