      The Opportunity

We are #hiring a Supervisor, Land Contracts and Lease Administration in our Calgary head office.       Reporting to the Land Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership, direction, and mentorship of the Lease Administration team and the Team Lead of Contracts. You will focus on maintaining current and accurate information pertaining to land contracts and lease records, timely execution of regulatory and reporting requirements, and the coordination of daily activities for land staff. As an integral part of the Canadian business unit, you will join a team that values its people and provides work with purpose.

      What you will do

      • Assist contracts landmen and analysts in interpreting and drafting land agreements, ensuring staff are using the most current CAPL, CAPLA, PJVA, PASC and other industry documents

      • Oversee preparation, tracking, and management of all lease obligations

      • Manage the maintenance and loading of land agreements into our corporate land system

      • Complete corporate acreage reporting and assist in providing yearly reserves reports

      • Coordinate due diligence and drafting of purchase and sale agreements and related conveyance documents for acquisition and divestiture projects

      • Maintain or upgrade procedures and processes, ensuring that all new land updates are communicated in a timely manner

      • Ensure that external land owner and partner queries and disputes are handled efficiently

      • Build positive relationships with other departments and ensure timely responses to land queries

      What you will bring

      • Minimum seven years of supervisory experience with a track record of effective leadership

      • A post-secondary education in a land program or an equivalent combination of education and experience

      • Member of CAPLA and / or CALEP

      • An advanced understanding of Crown and freehold mineral lease administration and government regulations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba

      • Demonstrated experience with acquisitions and divestitures

      • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, GeoSCOUT, Alberta ETS, Saskatchewan ISC, and Enerlink

      • Advanced experience with land systems and excellent reporting skills; experience with CS Explorer would be an asset

      • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a collaboratively with diverse groups

      • Demonstrated conflict management skills and excellent attention to detail
