The Supervisor of Accounts Payable is responsible for supervising and managing all aspects of Starkey’s accounts payable functions and ensuring the work is performed in an accurate, complete, and timely manner. This position will manage the monthly closing functions, complete weekly payment runs, lead annual 1099 reporting, prepare weekly accounts payable forecasts and ensure proper controls are in place. This role will provide the structure for team trainings, ensure the team is following best practices, and to problem solve issues with internal departments, locations or suppliers

      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS

      Supervise accounts payable staff

      • Coach, mentor and develop employees; hold regular one on one meetings and team meetings
      • Assist staff with problem resolution
      • Monitor and review staff’s workflow levels
      • Train staff on new procedures and documentation of procedures & best practices
      • Make hiring and termination decisions

      Supervise workflow approval activities for internal departments

      • Control workflow set-up and activity levels/approvals
      • Review new vendor set-ups

      Resolve escalated inquiries from suppliers and business units

      • Maintain good supplier relationships
      • Maintain good customer relationships with the business units

      Perform and supervise end of month activities

      Supervise and complete weekly payment runs

      Review and establish policies and ensure proper documentation of procedures

      Provide cash flow forecasting support to Treasury

      Manage employee expense reimbursement program

      Assist with annual external audit

      Manage regulatory compliance

      • Administer and assist with annual 1099 filing process
      • State escheatment for unclaimed property

      JOB REQUIREMENTS

      Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

      Education

      • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience required

      Experience

      • 5+ years equivalent work experience
      • 2 years Accounts Payable experience (manufacturing business preferred)
      • Supervisor experience preferred, not required

      Knowledge / Technical Requirements

      • Intermediate level of experience required with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
      • 3-way match knowledge preferred
      • Oracle experience preferred

      The annual salary for this position is between $56,210 -$76,650 / year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
