      Job Description

      Supervises and coordinates the staff and daily operations and staff. Confers with other clinical healthcare providers and hospitals regarding the treatment and transport of patients. May participate in community sponsored events to provide EMS services. Performs the duties of a Paramedic as necessary.

      Job Responsibility

      • Promotes Paramedic department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
      • Leads the activities of assigned Paramedic team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives.
      • Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
      • Supervises the day to day operational aspects of the staff; records and submits daily supervisory logs.
      • Prioritizes, schedules, assigns and monitors work to optimize operational service.
      • Analyzes, recommends, implements and monitors approved work-flow changes.
      • Assists with evaluating the staffing requirements necessary to support operations.
      • Regularly monitors team member certification expiration dates to ensure compliance.
      • Ensures proper procedures and protocols are followed by all clinical and EMS staff; provides for appropriate training as necessary.
      • Assist in quality assurance and performance improvement activities by regularly reviewing patient care reports to ensure accuracy and proper completion.
      • Liaises with other healthcare providers and hospitals and supports community events.

      Job Qualification

      • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
      • ACLS, PALS, NYC REMAC, required.
      • CCEMT-P or equivalent, required.
      • Current Credentialed CEMS CC Paramedic, preferred.
      • 4-6 years of relevant experience and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, required.
