The Security Supervisor is responsible for managing the Security Department on the assigned shift.
Supervises plans and schedules Security activities.
Determines personnel deployment and level requirements within a shift.
Assigns work to Security Officers and establishes priorities.
Oversees and directs the activities of the Security Officers to ensure the smooth flow of the security operations on assigned shift.
Accesses drop boxes, soft count and coin rooms, chips, markers, fill slips and other sensitive areas. Assures optimum guest satisfaction through the delivery of excellent customer service.
Enforces company policies as they pertain to guest and team member conduct on the premises.
Documents infractions and advises management when appropriate.
Responds to all emergencies such as fire, injuries, property damage, etc.
Directs and/or assists with evacuations if required.
Investigates and completes reports concerning the same.
Verifies and approves all detainments.
Apprehends (when appropriate) individuals who are observed to be engaged in criminal activity and detains these individuals until they can be turned over to law enforcement authorities.
Acts as company representative to law enforcement authorities.
Ensures the enforcement of state gaming laws including (but not limited to) the identification and removal of underage persons from the casino floor.
Responds to verbal and/or physical altercations and applies or directs the appropriate measures to resolve the situation.
For physical altercations, applies and/or directs the minimum amount of force necessary to restrain any and all involved.
Initiates formal evictions of disorderly persons.
Responds to and/or directs the company response to requests for medical assistance
Provides assistance consistent with company policy and the skill level and certifications of available personnel.
Coordinates and supervises crowd control for special events.
Effectively able to communicate with all departments regarding guest issues, team member issues, etc., in order to find resolution.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have a government-issued ID.
Must obtain a TAM/Alcohol Awareness Card.
Must obtain a Nevada Gaming License.
Must be able to use a Fire Extinguisher.
The Security Supervisor may be required to successfully complete a TASER Certification Course; carry and maintain proficiency in the use of the equipment.
Minimum 2-3 years previous experience in similar position within the gaming or hotel industry.
Working knowledge of security procedures and applicable State and Federal, regulations and ordinances; interviewing and interrogation techniques; surveillance techniques; and an understanding of laws governing search and seizure is required.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings.
Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing, work permits, and other work authorization cards based on the job they perform.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral.
The primary work environment is in climate-controlled offices, outdoors, and gaming facility areas.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Must have the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to constantly move objects.
Employee must be able to use hands and feet in self-defense, use physical force to maintain or protect life, physically restrain individuals, break up separate individuals, subdue and/or take down individuals, run up and/or downstairs, and must be able to stand for entire work shift.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
Must have acceptable hearing levels to properly monitor radio transmissions.
Must be able to wear an earpiece without obstruction.
Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, and over the telephone.
Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned, or to make general observations of facilities, guests, and team members.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office, gaming facility and outdoor environment.
Physically able to withstand the challenges of extensive walking, climbing, and descending numerous interior and external stairs, including multi-level building facilities.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
The team member may be required to successfully complete a TASER Certification Course; carry and maintain proficiency in the use of the equipment.
The Security Supervisor is in charge of coordinating and overseeing the security staff at Palms Casino and Palms Place or within the designated area. Their responsibilities focus on devising strategies, appointing personnel, and implementing protocols that would ensure the safety of the establishment, goods, and the people inside.Core Responsibilities:
