High School education with some college-level and/or professional training in materials management, infection control, decontamination and disinfection, medical instrumentation, medical terminology industrial management and/or communication.
Three years' experience in sterile processing and/or operating room in an acute care setting, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of decontamination and sterilization sciences, infection prevention and control measures, case cart systems, medical/surgical supplies and equipment.
Work experience and proficiency in applying the following standards and best practices related to processing and sterile supply issues: AAMI, AORN, FDA, TJC, Healthcare Sterile Processing, NIOSH and OSHA.
Proven track record in demonstrating critical thinking, analytical skills, prioritizing and planning skills.
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication, customer-service and supervisory skills.
Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Office software.

The Sterile Processing Supervisor manages, develops and trains the staff that performs the following activities: cleaning, decontamination, disinfection, assembly, sterilization, case cart building and sterile storage for all hospital-reprocessed / sterilized equipment, instrument or supplies required for use in El Camino Hospital. Ensures the accurate, reliable, and timely access to sterile supplies for clinicians. Is responsible for the effective use of materials, personnel, and resources to produce quality results and positive outcomes in patient care.
QUALIFICATIONS
License/Certifications
Current CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Certification as a technician.
Current Certification in Healthcare Leadership from Healthcare Sterile Processing required within one year of hire into position.
Salary Range:
$46.14 - $69.21 USD HourlyThe Physical Requirements and Working Conditions of this job are available.
