- Responsible for all supply chain management and logistics activity within assigned service line
- May assist with supply budget management/variance investigation and reporting
- Responsible for staff management
- Supervises staff conducting inventory counts, adjustments, reorder and all physical and computer assisted inventory transactions necessary for replenishment and maintenance throughout the hospitals or centralized stores
- Maintains inventory control by ensuring accurate and timely input into applicable software
- Responsible for short and long term planning, inventory level effectiveness/assurance, new product evaluation and selection with service line coordinators
- Orients and trains staff on the use of applicable software and web sites used for ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment
- Ensures job skills are demonstrated and performed accurately and in accordance with Emory Healthcare Policies, as well as departmental policies and guidelines
- Trains staff on the proper use of material handling equipment, including but not limited to fork lifts, electric pallet jacks and hand trucks in the performance of their jobs in accordance with OSHA standards, where applicable
- May ensure effective operation of department vehicles which may include vans and trucks in accordance with Georgia law
- Schedules and assigns staff to carry out, dispatch and perform job duties, while monitoring all activity to ensure timely completion with accuracy and accountability
- Performs routine and as-necessary performance reviews in a supportive role to Management
- Counsels and maintains disciplinary structure within the department as necessary and reports all needed information for staff development to Management in a timely manner, while resolving matters of employee relations both ongoing within and outside the department
- Ensure purchasing contract compliance
- Responsible for vendor management
- Communicates with all levels of leadership as necessary at Emory Healthcare
- Ensures follow up to all requests are processed and disseminated to appropriate staff as necessary for timely and accurate job completion
- Generates and maintains computer reports necessary for job completion by staff and for inventory control and record keeping and accountability
- May directs day-to-day cycle counts and inventories
- Maintains inventory control, optimizes effective delivery system of goods and services as well as space management
- May be responsible for inputting charges including bill only implants and specialty items
- Establishes and monitors departmental productivity and quality indicators
- Reports and summarizes as needed and necessary all supportive information to management both within and outside the department on a timely basis to maintain a successful operating department
- Conducts quality audits on equipment, processes, outcomes and documents, develops and evaluates processes and procedures
- Identifies and implements innovative solutions, ideas and suggestions that improve quality or services
- Follows up on action items as necessary to ensure completion of assignment
- May serve on committees such as the OR value analysis and standardization committee and OR/CS/MM committee as assigned and appropriate
- Performs related responsibilities as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Four years warehouse, stockroom, or materials management experience and automated inventory control/purchasing experience of which one year is a supervisory role
- Must demonstrate working knowledge of computers to include but not limited to Microsoft programs
- For positions in the OR, candidates may have 4 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist/Inventory or Supply Chain experience in hospital or Physician office
- Supply Chain management or a related clinical license or certification preferred
- Prior experience researching medical supply request/ budget expense analysis; product standardization desired
- Some positions may require valid GA driver's license and insurable driving record and some individuals in this job classification may be required to pass the DOT physical
