      This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Assistant Commandant for Intelligence, Intelligence Coordination Center (ICC), Strategic Intelligence Department, Analysis Division, National Maritime Intelligence Center, Suitland, MD.

      Requirements


      • U.S. Citizenship is required.
      • The applicant is subject to pre-appointment and random drug testing.
      • Must pass a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI).
      • A Non-Disclosure must be signed.
      • A final offer of employment is contingent upon a negative drug test result.

      Qualifications


      GS-14: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience includes receiving, reviewing, screening and synthesizing large volumes of information and translating it into policy relevant intelligence; analyzing the validity, accuracy, and reliability of information received from a wide variety of sources to assess importance to foreign policy and operational and decision making interests in a broad assignment area; preparing a wide range of analytic products to clearly characterize the policy significance and implications of the issues and developments in the assigned area; preparing written contributions to interagency intelligence assessments, preparing and advocating agency position on controversial or disputed issues; acquiring information through extensive means and alerting senior agency staff and command members to issues of or developments of special urgency or importance; establishing key international liaison to obtain critical sources of operations intelligence; and serving as supervisor, team leader, or technical lead.

      Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

      National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
