      Duties


      • You will assess the overall health of the Navy Nuclear Deterrence Mission (NNDM) by conducting end-to-end assessments, identifying trends, evaluating risks and assessing the effectiveness of mitigation measures and corrective actions.
      • You will exercise leadership and supervisory/managerial authority as the supervisor for the NNDM Oversight Office's analysts who oversee Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS), Nuclear Weapons Surety (NWS), and Fleet organizations.
      • You will oversee the assessment of the readiness and sustainability of SWS/NWS and SSBN systems, as well as supporting facilities/infrastructure, personnel, training and other related elements of the NNDM.
      • You will develop, coordinate, and implement formal guidance related to assessing and reporting the readiness and sustainability of NNDM systems.
      • You will prepare reports and presentations for CNO; Director, Navy Staff; and/or the NNDM Oversight Council (NNDMOC).
      • You will act as the NNDM Oversight Office's liaison between the Director, Naval Nuclear Weapons Program (CNO N00NW) and other NNDM Component Commands (Secretariat, Echelon 1 and 2, and Type Commanders).

      Requirements

      • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

      • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
      • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
      • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
      • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
      • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

      Qualifications


      Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-3 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience leading teams that operate Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) and/or are responsible for Nuclear Weapons Surety (NWS); performing program assessment that supports senior leadership decision making; and/or planning, organizing, and facilitating teamwork.
