- Applying risk management concepts to resolve gaps in specificity of existing security management programs, i.e. personnel, physical, information, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) management.
- Managing the Personnel Security (PERSEC) program as it relates to the Special Security Officer (SSO).
- Initiating or participating in the review and improvement of work methods, organizational features, and the structuring of positions.
- Reviewing construction design plans and physically inspecting proposed facility while under construction to evaluate and identify any security issues.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel to locations both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS) up to 30% of the time.
- May be required to undergo polygraph testing.
- May be required to return to duty within 60 minutes after receipt of notification.
- May be required to work overtime various hours, including weekends and holidays, with minimum notice.
- This position is designated as KEY, meaning the position cannot be vacated during war or national emergency without seriously impairing the mission.
- Key and E-E employees must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action.
- Incumbent of this position has unique, or scarce managerial or technical skills required by the wartime mission.

Specialized experience is defined as comprehensive knowledge and practical application of Special Security Office (SSO) tradecraft to establish/terminate and manage Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and Technical SCIFS (TSCIFs); managing new construction projects and security policies, regulations, and directives; AND processing daily administrative security management processes including Personnel Security SF-86 investigations, determine clearance eligibility, Nondisclosure Agreements, and conduct security indoctrinations and debriefings.
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.About the company
