This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval , award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
Duties
The Supervisory Social Worker (Local Recovery Coordinator functions as a champion, advocate, and subject-matter expert for the recovery model both within Mental Health Service and across the Manchester VA Medical Center system. The incumbent functions as a champion, advocate, and subject-matter expert for the recovery model both within Mental Health Service and across the Manchester VA Medical Center system. LRC serves as a recovery ombudsman to the Chief of Mental Health (MH), MH leadership, and staff on recovery-oriented practices. In conjunction with MH leadership, LRC develops a sustainable plan for the facility that identifies staged implementation of recovery-oriented services; and is responsible for coordinating the evaluation of recovery implementation across the facility and reporting outcomes to stakeholders as appropriate. The incumbent will also be engaged in direct provision of recovery-oriented clinical care. LRC provides operational and administrative oversight and direction to all programs under her/his direction. Employee is administratively responsible for personnel management and development within these areas; and is also responsible for adherence to all applicable policies pertaining to these programs. These programs are complex and multidisciplinary, including teams comprised of both direct and matrixed personnel. LRC incorporates applicable guidelines consisting of organizational vision, mission, and goals; established program policies, procedures, and objectives; clinical pathways, and established standards of care. Employee independently performs difficult and complicated review and analysis of complex issues, ambiguous situations, and ethical conflicts. Uses critical decision-making skills to quickly, logically, and accurately prioritize difficult needs and potential solutions. Employee employs judgment, initiative, and creativity in independent and/or collaborative problem-solving and in designing solutions when guidelines do not exist or do not apply, or where gaps exist in services, equipment, or benefit coverage. Demonstrates awareness of own limits and seeks advice from MH senior leadership and VISN/VACO points of contact as dictated by circumstances. Seeks out, possesses, and disseminates knowledge community, state, and national resources, organizations, and support groups and how these can be integrated to achieve recovery- focused aims. Analyzes current and future care, service, and facility needs across the continuum with respect to outcomes and engages in ongoing process improvement across the system.

Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
