      About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 9th Mission Support Command, 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry located at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

      Duties


      • Serve as a Supervisory Staff Administrator in an Army Reserve Battalion or equivalent size unit.
      • Exercise supervision and control on behalf of the Commander.
      • Manage, coordinate and integrate the day to day operations of the Battalion.
      • Maintain oversight of the readiness status of subordinate units.
      • Advise the Commander and staff on policy matters relative to all phases of the United States Army Reserve Command (USAR) program.
      • Analyze and interpret incoming directives, policies, and instructions to implement the changes in the Battalion.
      • Direct and monitor compliance and actions required to improve programs.
      • Identify requirements for development of the yearly budget for Reserve Personnel Army and Operations Maintenance Army Reserve funds.

      Requirements

      • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).

      In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.       Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing or coordinating operations, plans, and programs for a unit in the areas of personnel and pay management, training, administration, supply, maintenance operations, information management, resource management, recruitment, inspections and investigations, public relations, and/or security; interpreting and providing advice on directives, policies, or instructions from higher headquarters; and performing evaluations or inspections to ensure unit readiness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

      OR

      Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management and Business Administration.

      OR

      Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
