      About the role:
      The Supplier Engineer serves as a technical expert to ensure quality and reliability can be repeated and reproduced throughout the life of products across all divisions. This role manages contract manufacturers (CM) and Capital Sourced Finished Medical Device (SFMD) suppliers for capital equipment, while focusing on new product development (NPD) and sustaining projects for the SFMD category team. The incumbent is responsible for executing deliverables to onboard capital equipment as well as developing and validating manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems to meet manufacturing delivery goals and support sustaining projects through change management.

      Your responsibilities will include:

      • Working with global contract manufacturers and suppliers to understand assembly and finished good manufacturing processes
      • Working with cross-functional teams to qualify and improve supplier processes; plan, schedule, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering projects
      • Investigating and evaluating new and existing technologies to improve the quality and reliability for current and future products
      • Partnering with suppliers and commodity team members to investigate supplied material issues or supply constraints
      • Driving troubleshooting processes on-site at supplier facility
      • Designing and documenting complex experiments and protocols (DOE) to align with internal and external project goals
      • Compiling data and communicating results to the project team
      • Identifying required resources to meet project milestones; make recommendations as necessary
      • Maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures to support the BSC commitment to patient safety and product quality


      Required qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in any engineering discipline
      • Minimum of 2yrs experience working within medical device or similarly regulated industry
      • Working knowledge of statistical methods, six sigma and problem-solving methodologies
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal and external teams
      • Experience with good documentation practices (GDP)
      • Ability to travel 5% (domestic and international)

      Preferred qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering
      • Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers
      • Experience supporting complex electrotechnical systems
      • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; analytical and process-driven
      • Results-oriented with strong organizational skills
      • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence, build and maintain relationships
      • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbally)
