      About this Position:

      The Supplier Performance Management (SPM) Specialist will be responsible for leading North America Indirect Procurement’s (NAIP) SPM initiatives to achieve program strategies and goals. They will facilitate the annual category segmentation process, supplier treatment-scoping activity, support supplier awards, and is responsible to actively lead business reviews for all strategic vendor partners in scope.

      They must identify and leverage supplier KPIs, produce and supply reports, develop supplier scorecards, and conduct stakeholder surveys for all HDMA and AHM associates/suppliers in scope. The SPM Specialist is responsible to support the SPM Lead with developing, establishing, maintaining, and innovating NAIP’s Supplier Management program to ensure continuous improvement with our strategic partners and business stakeholders.

      Additionally, the SPM Specialist will be responsible to collaborate with internal strategic partners to identify vendors that are deemed problematic and lead supplier improvement activities.

      Responsibilities include:

      · Execute the annual North America Indirect Procurement Category Segmentation process, supplier treatment initiatives, and define supplier management strategy for supplier performance management engagements.

      · Responsible to drive supplier performance initiatives with key stakeholders. Uses insights to generate new ideas, concepts, or solutions and effectively sells their ideas to secure buy in from individuals and teams.

      · Collaborate with the category teams to regulate NAIP led business reviews with core and strategic suppliers.

      · Leads department-level business plan themes. Demonstrates technical proficiency, business acumen, and uses business knowledge and experiences to solve challenges or identify opportunities on topics within their technical area.

      Who we are seeking:

      Required Work Experience:

      · A minimum of 2-6 years of experience in either a Purchasing and/or Procurement related role or in a field where job knowledge & skills are applicable based on education.

      Required Education:

      · Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience

      Desired skills:

      · Specialty knowledge of procurement & business operations, systems, organizational structure, performance metrics (KCP/KPI) & supply base characteristics in one’s area of focus.

      · Intermediate understanding of category management principles

      · Listens effectively to gain understanding of individuals and organizational perspectives.

      · Clearly communicates organized thoughts, utilizing oral, written, visual and non-verbal skills to gain support for business needs.

      · Problem-solving skills. Applies logic and reasoning as well as utilizes situational analysis to identify root cause and address problems.

      · Project Management skills. Focuses on continuous improvement and meeting goals/targets.

      · Self-motivated, purpose and results driven. Supports company direction and promotes an environment aimed at Honda’s success. Models Honda Philosophy principles.

      · Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and familiarity with using major ERP Systems.

      Additional Position Factors:

      · This is a multi-plant / business unit role with an office and manufacturing support focus.
