      Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine, as a Supply Chain Analyst at our medical campus in Hyde Park.

      Job Summary

      The Supply Chain Analyst is an entry-level 1-year rotational position +1 year stationary assignment, serving various roles within the Supply Chain & Logistics department to develop an understanding of Supply Chain systems and practices before assuming a fixed position. Contributes results based on project work. Provides effective communication to management, co-workers, and suppliers to establish collaborative communication related to the activity status of supply chain initiatives. Serves as a professional and knowledgeable representative of the organization to outside suppliers. Utilizes Lean Tools to identify opportunities to maximize savings, increase efficiencies, and improve first-time quality.

      Essential Job Functions

      • Learn by doing in one or more of the Supply Chain & Logistics functional areas by executing job responsibilities supporting daily work tasks, projects, and business objectives.

      • Sourcing- Independently secures data from suppliers and internal sources, and effectively analyzes findings to develop, implement, and monitor supplier strategies and relationships in all aspects of cost, quality, delivery, technology, and service

      • Purchasing- Effectively drive procurement transactional functions and process improvement within the Purchasing department. Focusing on supporting procure-to-pay processes

      • Operations- Development and growth of the physical supply chain, including receiving, stocking, inventory management, and process improvement in these areas

      • Supply Chain Performance & Analytics- Work on Supply Chain business process systems to drive best practice use of technology and reporting. Drive supply chain business process improvement with PDCA approach

      • Actively engages in professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge of business trends and best practices
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Finance, or related field required.
      • Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving, and time management skills.
      • Supply Chain & Process Improvement course work with similar internship experience
      • Lean/Process Improvement, process mapping, and Six Sigma experience preferred
      • Strong analytical abilities including high aptitude for Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Word; experience in Tableau is a plus
      • Strong communication skills within all levels of the organization
      • Individual highly self-motivated, high level of adaptability and comfortable to ask questions

      Licenses/Certifications

      • Prefer Green Belt Six Sigma or Lean experience (course work okay)
