      Our Manufacturing & Maintenance – Transport business is seeking a detail orientated and highly skilled Site Purchasing Officer, to join the team in Bohle, Townsville.

      Your Role:

      You will be primarily responsible for coordinating with contractors & suppliers to ensure the timely provision of goods & services for projects & site maintenance. This role serves as a crucial support for the Area Business Manager and his teams, aiding with site business development initiatives, bids/tenders, and new system implementations.

      The Purchasing Officer is tasked with managing the purchasing of materials for production/projects as per the established schedule or purchasing requisition instructions. They will also be responsible for sourcing and coordinating with suitable suppliers to ensure the alignment with UGL’s business objectives regarding quality, availability, delivery, cost, warranties, and suitability.

      About You:

      • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Commercial Management or Business is highly desirable
      • 5-10 years of experience in a similar Procurement or Supply Chain role
      • Proficient in procurement and inventory control methods and practices
      • Experience in contract negotiation and administration
      • Strong communication skills, negotiation, and influencing skills
      • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, email and MRP type software
      • Experience in the rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics, or any other safety critical
