  OVERVIEW

  Perfetti Van Melle (makers of Mentos, Airheads, Dentyne, Trident and Bubblicious!) is one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of confectionery and chewing gum with global brands that are being enjoyed in more than 150 countries worldwide. We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Supply Chain Data Scientist to join our growing team.

  WHAT YOU WILL DO

  We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to manage statistical models and optimization engines developed in Python, PySpark, and SQL. This role involves working with Databricks and Azure, requiring proficiency in GIT and experience deploying CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to effectively convey complex outcomes to a business audience. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Data Pipeline Design: Design and build high-performance data pipelines to support data science projects.
  • Data Preparation: Prepare and transform big datasets for advanced analytics models.
  • Data Processing and Analysis: Work with Databricks or similar platform to build and maintain data environments.
  • Manage and Optimize Models: Develop and optimize statistical models using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Deployment: Utilize GIT for source code versioning and deploy CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth integration.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate complex analytical outcomes to business stakeholders.
  • Collaboration: Work with business stakeholders to understand needs and develop impactful analytics solutions.

  WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in data science
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Python, PySpark, SQL, and GIT
  • CI/CD Expertise: Experience with CI/CD pipeline deployment and cloud platforms like Azure
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex outcomes to a business audience
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline is preferred
  Preferred Competencies
  • Agile Environment: Experience in agile environments and collaborating with multiple business stakeholders
  • Big Data Platforms: Familiarity with Big Data platforms, distributed computing, and software engineering best practices
  • Machine Learning: Advanced knowledge in machine learning techniques
  • Tools and Platforms: Experience with tools such as Jupyter, Pycharm/VScode, Hadoop, Oracle, and MySQL is beneficial
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and command of the English language
