      POSITION SUMMARY

      The Supply Management Director for Transportation and Logistics will lead the strategic sourcing and procurement activities for all transportation and logistics services within the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing the company’s logistics operations, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and reliable transportation services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in procurement, logistics, and supply chain management, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

      The Supply Management Director will report to the Senior Director, Supply Management for Indirect Goods and Services. This role may require occasional travel to supplier locations and Company sites. The position is based in Montréal, QC, with the potential for hybrid work arrangements.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      · Strategic Sourcing & Vendor Management:

      o Develop and execute procurement strategies for transportation and logistics services, including freight, warehousing, and distribution.

      o Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers and logistics partners to ensure high service levels and cost-efficiency.

      o Negotiate contracts and agreements that align with the organization’s goals and objectives, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.

      · Operational Excellence:

      o Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including supply chain, operations, and finance teams, to align procurement strategies with business needs.

      o Continuously monitor and assess supplier performance, implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain service quality and cost-effectiveness.

      o Lead initiatives to improve transportation and logistics processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

      · Risk Management:

      o Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain, including contingency planning and supplier diversification.

      o Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to transportation and logistics, including environmental and safety standards.

      · Budgeting & Cost Control:

      o Develop and manage the transportation and logistics procurement budget, driving cost savings initiatives while maintaining high service levels.

      o Analyze market trends and data to forecast logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

      · Leadership & Development:

      o Lead, mentor, and develop a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

      o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and support the overall growth and success of the organization.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      ACADEMIC

      · University degree or equivalent (supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field) complemented by a demonstrated track record of success.

      · SCMA (Supply Chain Management Association) accreditation or MBA are assets.

      EXPERIENCE

      · 10+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on transportation and logistics.

      · Proven track record in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation within a manufacturing or distribution environment.

      · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

      · Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

      · Results-oriented, with a strong focus on achieving business objectives.

      · Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and introduce innovative solutions in procurement.

      · Experience as a change agent, successfully managing and executing change initiatives that enhance the organization's competitive advantage.

      · Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

      · Collaborative leader with a commitment to team development and continuous learning.

      · Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.

      · Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

      · Knowledge of SAP, JD Edwards, K2GEN, or any ERP system is an asset.

      LANGUAGES

      · Bilingual – French / English (advanced level)
