      The Supply Technician serves in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Veterans Administration Medical Center, Veterans Integrated Service Network, Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, Baltimore, MD.

      Duties

      Major duties and responsibilities include:
      General: Provides wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and materials.
      Supply Distribution: Maintains stock at primary and secondary inventory locations for all clinical and administrative services. Interacts with clinical and administrative customer to ensure issues and needs are identified and either resolved or escalated to supervisors or inventory Management Specialists as needed. Recommends revisions in stock levels as needed to supply changes to inventory Management Specialists. Monitors expiration dates, rotates stock to limit outdates and removes items from use as required by outdates. Performs daily inventory of primary and secondary inventory points using baring coding equipment on a predetermined schedule that will allow for timely replenishment orders.
      Inventory Control - Receiving: Receives supplies and material into the VA Health Care System and supported catchment areas. Unpacks/uncrates supplies from shipping cartons; properly stores supplies and material in main/primary inventory areas. Stores items in accordance with established guidelines. Utilizes a computerized inventory system, to ensure sterility and integrity of the supplies and materials and the data integrity of the inventory management system.

      Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
