      Job Description:

      Job Summary

The Supervisor Network Operations Control (NOC) Operation s Services and Planning invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supervising the NOC Operations Services and Planning Team to execute and support the Payroll and Scheduling functions of all groups within the NOC . This role works directly with multiple Union representatives to administer scheduling policies and procedures in accordance with union contracts, operating manuals, and office policies. The Supervisor NOC Operations Services and Planning is detail-oriented and has strong communication skills to help drive the future of Southwest.

      Responsibilities
      • Oversee the payroll and scheduling functions of NOC, attendance, and overtime tracking for contract and noncontract groups within the NOC
      • Oversee the planning, implementation and maintenance of annual, monthly and daily schedules for all TWU 550 members in the Company's scheduling system
      • Oversee the preparation, analysis and audit of SWA NOC Contract and Non-Contract Employee's hours prior to payroll close
      • Ensure NOC and Dispatch personnel are scheduled to meet operational demands and contractual requirements to maintain a safe and efficient SWA Operation
      • Assist NOC Leadership to ensure scheduling compliance with applicable policies and FAA regulations
      • Ensure compliance with TWU 550 Collective Bargaining Agreement rules, including overseeing administration of daily overtime callouts
      • Oversee timely communication to department Employees on scheduling matters, including timely and accurate notification of Dispatchers regarding assignments
      • Serve as the primary contact for payroll-schedule related questions from NOC OPS Services and Planning Team
      • Review and approve NOC Payroll/Scheduling discrepancies
      • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
      • Strong knowledge of NOC contracts (Dispatch and Meteorology) with ability to manage work rules in accordance with contracts, office policies and operating manuals
      • Skilled in communication, both verbal and written, including interacting professionally with a diverse group, including Senior Leaders, Union Leadership and subject matter experts
      • Skilled in using scheduling tool for Southwest Dispatch and Planners (currently Ascent WorkZone), including schedule bidding, vacation bidding, overtime assignment as required, monthly and daily scheduling adjustments
      • Skilled in problem-solving, strategy, decision-making, and time management
      • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
      • Skilled in considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
      • Ability to anticipate, recognize, and clearly define problems to systematically analyze and weigh alternatives and propose solutions
      • Ability to provide ongoing coaching to ensure strong Teams
      • Ability to think strategically and understand the relationship between current actions and future consequences
      • Ability to manage sensitive situations while maintaining confidentiality
      • Ability to work well with others as part of a Team, professionally interact with other departments, labor groups, the public and possess the ability to handle complex issues
      Education
      • Required: High School Diploma or GED

      Experience
      • Fully functioning, broad knowledge in:
        • Experience within the NOC Ops Support Team in operational scheduling and payroll for Dispatch
        • Operational support working in a Union environment with Union contracts
        • Administrative support

      Physical Abilities
      • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
      • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
      • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

      Other Qualifications
      • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
      • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
      • Must be at least 18 years of age
      • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
      • Must be able to work varying and extended hours based on operational needs

      Pay & Benefits:

      Competitive market salary from $84,350 per year to $92,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
