The Surgical Associate, working under the direction of the Nurse Manager, and registered nurses, assist in the cleaning of operating room and other areas in the operating suite; maintenance of non-sterile and sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms. Transports patient to and from the Pre-op area, Operating Room, Endoscopy and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Assist in the PACU; cleans patient carts, provides snack, and enters surgical information into computer clinical log. Assists with the discharge of outpatients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of sterile technique.
Will need training on proper cleaning standards and cross contamination.
EDUCATION :
High school graduate or GED
BLS certified by American Heart Association
