      Summary

      Performs high level scheduling for specialized outpatient and inpatient surgeries/procedures. Position is responsible for the collection of clinical information/reports in preparation for all surgeries/procedures and for obtaining pre-authorizations. Position is responsible for administrative support to physicians and physician assistants/certified registered nurse practitioners, including, but not limited to, general duties associated with patient office visits, patient communication, and scheduling patients.

      Minimum Qualifications

      1. High school diploma or equivalent.
      2. One year of experience in a physician practice setting, which included patient or surgical/procedure scheduling.
      3. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
      4. Fundamental understanding of personal computers, familiarity with the Windows operating system and keyboard skills.

      Preferred Qualifications

      1. Knowledge of Cardiology terminology and procedures.
      2. Associates degree and/or three years of experience in patient scheduling.
      3. Fundamental understanding of personal computers and familiarity with the Windows operating system.
      4. Prior experience of providing direct patient care in a Cardiology office setting.
