- Set up surgery for assigned studies, including preparing surgical packs, instruments, and gowns.
- Monitor anesthesia.
- Prepare ancillary documents and necessary supplies for termination of assigned studies.
- Prepare testing materials, test articles, and animals according to written instructions and protocols.
- Maintain ancillary records such as logbooks and worksheets.
- Conduct routine studies under supervision according to written instructions and protocols.
- Participate in the development and improvement of documents, test systems, quality systems, and workflow.
- Stock supplies for testing and perform environmental monitoring.
- Prepare and maintain reagents required for testing.
- Review reagent preparation worksheets, raw data, and documentation.
- Administer test articles or extracts at appropriate doses.
- Conduct daily health observations and provide suitable care for animal welfare according to instructions and protocols.
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or ALAT certification is required
- 3+ years of experience with anesthesia

Job Description
As a Surgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing and conducting surgical procedures for assigned studies. You will be responsible for setting up surgical packs, instruments, and gowns, as well as preparing ancillary documents and necessary supplies. Your duties will include conducting routine studies under supervision, maintaining records, stocking supplies, and monitoring the environment. You will also prepare reagents, review documentation, administer test articles, and conduct health observations to ensure the welfare of the animals.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
