      Job Summary

      Reporting to the Director, Obstetrical Nursing, provides assistance with nursing care of patients as needed under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department and regulatory agencies.

      The L&D Surgical Technician will assist team members and work within their scope of practice. Scrubs in, sterilizes, and sets up rooms. Provides clerical and support services to the unit as needed.

      Minimum Qualifications

      Education

      o High School diploma or equivalent required.

      o Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program required.

      Experience

      o No experience required as a licensed surgical technologist, 2 years experience preferred.

      Licensure and/or Certification

      o Certificate of completion from Accredited Surgical Technology Program required.

      o BLS healthcare provider required.

      Skills

      o Organizational skills.

      o Computer skills.

      o Sterile technique.

      o Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

      o Ability to maintain confidential information.
