      Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:


      Responsibilities

      • Help set up the operating room and organize the sterile table with surgical instruments and equipment, sterile linens, and sterile solutions.
      • Understand sterile aseptic technique and demonstrates knowledge of basic care preparation including knowledge of supplies and equipment relevant to the specific procedure.
      • Understand the surgical procedures and effectively anticipates the 's needs, surgeon's needs passing instruments and providing sterile items efficiently.
      • Work well within a team, demonstrate flexibility, and willing to assist others and perform departmental tasks needed.
      • Work within the AORN and AST guidelines
      • Clean and restock the operating room.

      Qualifications

      Job Requirements:

      • Graduate of a Surgical Technology program, equivalent training as an LPN, or five years of experience in scrubbing operative procedures.
      • Surgical Technologist Certification (NBSTSA or NCCT)

      Preferred Job Requirements:

      • Two years of clinical practice
