  Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital located in Harrisonburg; Virginia is hiring a Surgical Tech for the Cardiac Operating Room!
  
  Hours are: Monday through Friday 6:30am to 2:30pm and required call.Candidate mustlive within 30 minutes of the hospital for call purposes.Weekday call is 1430-0600 the following morning - Weekend call is 24 hours Saturday and Sunday
  
  $15,000 Sign on Bonus available for qualified candidates.
  
  DepartmentOverview:
  
  We are made up of two operating rooms and one hybrid OR.The Surgical Tech will work with a multi-disciplinary team of Cardio-thoracic Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists, and Physician Assistants and Registered Nurses.The Cardiothoracic Operating Room (CTOR) is part of the larger Surgical Services department at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Overall, there are 14 ORs, 2 minor surgery rooms, 6 procedure rooms, and 2 C-section suites. There are 2 dedicated CTORs, one Hybrid OR, and one Robotic OR where CTS cases are performed.

  • Aortic Root Replacement
    
  • Pericardiectomy
    
  • Thoracotomy
    
  • Transmyocardial Revascularization
    
  • Tricuspid Valve Repair/Replacement
    
  • Ventricular Assist Device Placement
    
  • Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery
    
  
  Cardiac repairs for:
  
  • Aortic Aneurysm/Dissection (Ascending & Descending)
    
  • Atrial Myxoma
    
  • Atrial Septal Defect
    
  • Patent Foramen Ovale
    
  • Ventricular Septal Defect
    
  • Ventricular Aneurysm
    
  
  
  The Surgical Technologist ensures that the operating room is properly prepared with the necessary instruments and equipment and assists the surgical team throughout the procedure by passing instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon. The role involves maintaining patient safety and ensuring that the surgical environment is organized, clean, and sterile. The Surgical Technologist assists in applying dressings, securing surgical drapes and transferring patients to recovery areas. Adheres to infection control protocols and sterile techniques to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
  
  Education
  
  • Trade School Graduate of Surgical Technology required
    
  
  
  Certification/Licensure
  
  • Certified Surgical Technologist
    
  • Licensed in the state
    
  • BLS
    
  
  
  Experience
  
  • 1 year of Operating Room experience preferred
    
  • CVOR experience preferred
    
  • New graduates with experience in the OR in other clinical roles would be considered
    
  • strong understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and patient safety protocols.
