      JOB SUMMARY:

      Surgical Technologists work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical Technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate the performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

      High school diploma, GED, or Foreign equivalent

      1 year of previous experience or successful completion of a Surgical Tech clinical rotation in an acute care surgical environment

      Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA

      Prior experience caring for patients in a pediatric environment

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      3 years of experience

      The current salary range for this position is $29.89 to $40.75

      A candidate’s placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
