- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Meets one of the following:
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program and certification as a surgical technologist. Recent graduates must obtain certification within 6 months of completing the surgical technology education program.
- Successful completion of a surgical technology training program in the US Army, Navy or Air Force.
- Work experience as a surgical technologist and active surgical technology certification.
- EX years of experience as a surgical technologist and active surgical technology certificaiton.hnician rmployment with St. Clair Hospital as a surgical technologist on or before December 28, 2020, in accordance with PA Act 80 of 2020.
- Employment with a healthcare facility, practicing surgical technology as the primary function, at any time during the 2 years prior to December 28, 2020, in accordance with PA Act 80 of 2020.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- One to three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
Summary
Responsible for functioning as a surgical scrub technologist for cesarean sections and postpartum tubal ligations performed on the Family Birth Center. Assists with bedside care as the need arises and acts as stock control assistant when necessary. The OB Surgical Technologist supports the functioning of the Family Birth Center under the direction of the nursing and medical staff.
