- Lead and perform field surveys including boundary, topographic, construction staking, ALTA/NSPS, and utility surveys.
- Operate and maintain GPS/GNSS equipment, total stations, robotic instruments, and data collectors.
- Interpret engineering plans, plats, and legal descriptions for accurate layout and data collection.
- Document and verify field conditions through clear field notes, sketches, and digital logs.
- Coordinate daily field activities and ensure safe, efficient, and accurate execution of survey tasks.
- Communicate with engineers, project managers, and clients to address site-related questions.
- Download and organize field data for processing; assist with drafting base maps and exhibits in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Research deeds, plats, easements, and property records to support boundary analysis and deliverables.
- Assist in preparing survey reports, plats, and legal descriptions.
- Ensure field-to-office continuity and data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
- Train and support junior field personnel as needed.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent field experience).
- 3–6 years of land surveying experience, including experience leading or coordinating field crews.
- Proficiency with modern survey instruments and data collection systems (e.g., Trimble, Leica, Topcon).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or survey data processing software is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of boundary, construction, and topographic survey practices.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions and travel to project sites.
- Experience with public infrastructure and land development projects.
- Understanding of local, state, and federal surveying standards.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently in the field while supporting collaborative office efforts.

Summary: We are seeking a capable and motivated Survey Associate to support and lead various surveying tasks across both field and office environments. This role is ideal for an experienced surveyor who can take initiative in the field, operate with minimal supervision, and contribute to the preparation and delivery of high-quality survey data for civil infrastructure and development projects.
