      OVERVIEW

      Merrick & Company is seeking career and quality minded Survey CAD Technician for challenging projects including all types of Boundary, GPS, Easement/Right of Way, Topographic and As-Built Surveys. Qualified candidates will be responsible for performing survey related research, performing survey calculations, and creating final survey deliverables. Successful candidate will work under direct supervision of a Land Surveyor. This is a full-time position based out of our Chamblee (Atlanta Metro), GA or Greenwood Village, CO offices.

      Hourly pay range for this position is $23.51 - $29.71 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.


      WHAT YOU'LL DO

      • Provide support to the senior survey team and communicate with field staff and Project Manager to resolve issues.
      • Take direction to perform survey related research using online resources or physical county records, analysis and reduction of field notes, and work with survey coordinate systems and datums.
      • In an intermediate-advanced support role, apply survey standards to prepare and maintain drawings, descriptions and exhibits on moderate complexity projects.
      • Complete survey drafting tasks using AutoCAD Civil 3D for moderately complex property descriptions, monumented land survey plats, topographic and contour maps. Address data issues with minimal support.
      • Prepare field packages.
      • Begin learning boundary analysis, involved in the conversations about the boundary determination with the responsible charge. Not making boundary decisions, but able to take a boundary determination and complete a plat.
      • Prepare easements from a provided base map.
      • Prepare legal description and exhibits.

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Two (2) – four (4) years of office-based land surveying experience.
      • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
      • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, load survey data, perform quality verification, process linework and prepare drawings.
      • Knowledge of survey related research.
      • Knowledge of coordinate systems, datums and mapping projections commonly used in the United States.
      • Demonstrated understanding survey concepts and methodologies such as boundary, GPS, easements, right-of-way, ALTA, topographic, construction layout, design, plan & profile, as-built, monumented land survey plats, topographic/contour maps, property legal descriptions.
      • Experience with drafting: parcel boundaries, plats, easement & right-of-way maps
      • Experience writing property descriptions.
      • Experience with processing design survey topography and DTM surfaces.
      • Experience reducing field notes preferred.
      • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
      • Experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint required.
      • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in a geospatial field.
      • Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) or Certified Survey Technician Certificate (CST).
      • Experience in Trimble Business Center.
      • Local candidates preferred.
