- Perform construction layouts, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys
- Conduct ALTA surveys after the initial contract period
- Work with an Instrument Operator in a two-person crew and occasionally work solo
- Utilize Trimble equipment including GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, Robotic total stations, Digital level, TSC7 data collectors, and TBC processing software
- Work on a variety of projects including commercial, industrial, multifamily residential, and institutional
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Survey Crew Chief
- Experience performing construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA surveys
- Proficiency with civil survey, topography, total station, GPS, land survey, and boundary survey software
- Pass a Drug Test, Background Check, and have a good driving record
- Ability to work autonomously and travel to job sites within Central Indiana
Survey Crew Chief
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our team. In this role, you will perform construction layouts, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys. After the initial nine-month contract period, you will also conduct ALTA surveys. You will work with an Instrument Operator in a two-person crew and occasionally work solo.

Work Environment
This role involves working outside in the field on survey projects. You will go directly from your home to the job site, providing a lot of autonomy. Occasionally, you will need to come into the office to meet with project managers and other team members. Typical work hours start around 7:30 AM, with earlier starts in the summer. Crew Chiefs average 45-50 hours per week, with occasional overtime up to 55 hours. There is a Saturday rotation where you will work one Saturday per month. The company provides a company vehicle, gas card, cell phone, and laptop. You will not need to travel across the state and will be home every night.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr.
