SVB Global Gateway is a dedicated international business development team that provides the right mix of products, services and strategic advice to VCs, VC-backed startups and growth stage companies expanding into the United States and international markets from innovation centers around the world including Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and North America, Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand — locations where SVB may not have a physical office. The team has been working with international clients for more than a decade across all stages and sectors. The team has deep expertise helping clients navigate the challenges and complexities that arise in their expansions to the US. Responsibilities The team is focused on building deep and authentic relationships with founders, CEOs/CFOs, investors, and ecosystem partners to improve their probability of success. We are curious, bright, and diverse in professional and personal backgrounds. This Associate role is responsible for assisting with the initiatives of Business Development team and helping them manage over 4000 portfolio companies over 7 international regions. Collaborate closely with Sales Ops, acting as a data steward and create/establish a comprehensive reporting infrastructure for senior management Lead the creation of quarterly newsletter to provide management with updates on significant strategy, business development activities, trends, and successes. Support the Bus Dev team with client acquisition by identifying new prospects via online research, social media, and contribute to outreach efforts. Develop external brand in ecosystem with strategic partners and build dynamic Social Media presence to support the Bus Dev team. Assist the Bus Dev team in planning and executing events, actively engaging with attendees to attract new business, referrals and partnership opportunities. Support Bus Dev team with competitive analysis and helping team refine GTM strategy. Conduct analysis of market share of top tier VCs and work on outreach. Support team in ad-hoc projects to drive brand recognition and other relevant team KPIs Initiate and nurture relationships with internal and external partners. The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $82,400-$123,600 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications Bachelors degree and 1-3 years of Finance, Venture Capital or Start Up Ecosystem experience or High School/GED and 5-7 years of experience. Preferred Qualifications Candidate must possess advanced proficiency with both PowerPoint and Excel and able to story-tell/be creative with presentations and strong data analysis skills. Candidate should have a strong interest in the innovation / tech community and desire to understand market dynamics, trends, and investor relationships Ability to prioritize tasks with effective time management in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and self-starter mentality Able to work in a team environment and comfortable working independently Analytical and comfortable making data-informed decisions Knowledge of banking products and operations, along with technology sector experience (Fintech, Consumer, Enterprise, Frontier, Climate) is a bonus Demonstrated interest in international tech ecosystem, coupled with strong interpersonal skills; comfortable attending independently and representing the brand/team effectively in market
