- Actively engage in scholarly activities that support collaborative research at the SVM. This includes performing fieldwork, sample collection, sample processing immunohistochemistry, hematology, image analysis, and data evaluation. Areas of research emphasis include host-pathogen interactions, pathology, and ecology, of wildlife species.
- Provide graduate and veterinary students training
- Manage the daily operations of Wildlife Research lab under the direction of the faculty supervisor. This includes applying research techniques, teaching, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, supply inventory and ordering, and archive of tissue samples.
- Participate in the following University activities as and when required:
- Faculty Senate
- Departmental meetings
- Departmental faculty evaluations
- SVM faculty meetings
- Special committee assignments (as assigned by the Dean)
- Outreach efforts in the local community (i.e., One Health One Medicine Program, CaribVet)
- Deliver content in veterinary and graduate courses including lectures and laboratories in wildlife biology
- Participate in the graduate and professional curriculum
- BSc with documented experience in aquatic species, MSc preferred
- With a basic knowledge and first experience and/or eagerness to learn:
- General experience in laboratory immunohistochemistry techniques, managing sample storage, inventory, and oversight of laboratory equipment

- A typical work week is 40 hours Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
- Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the core work hours between 8 am – 5 pm on campus for in-person classroom/laboratory, diagnostics, and research, otherwise available by email or remote means for meetings.
- Travel for medical/personal and professional meetings is granted by request and approval of the administration
- This is a full time position in the Caribbean island of Grenada.
