Job Description

- Leads, manages, and directs worldwide cash management activities consistent with global liquidity needs for business operations, capital projects, and acquisitions. Recommends and sets strategy regarding cash management and other treasury issues.
- Oversees RGA’s currency risk management strategy and infrastructure. Monitors the company’s foreign currency exposures.
- Recommends and negotiates worldwide banking arrangements including corporate credit facilities, public and private financing arrangements, money market fund usage, and global disbursement capabilities. Tracks business spend associated with banking relationships globally.
- Responsible for associated risk management practices involving currency, liquidty, and capital. May serve on or support various risk management committees or have staff assigned to those responsible committees.
- Provides business support for block transactions and legal entity needs focusing on bank accounts, cash management, global trust and custody arrangements, appropriate collateral structures, and country specific solutions.
- Participates in and directs the capital raising activities for the holdco and key operating companies. Evaluates and recommends capital structure and associated risks.
- Oversees the development of a global procurement capability.
- Oversees the global travel program and individual country programs.
- Responsible for the policies and procedures for all of the above activities.
- Broad based legal entity officer responsibilities.
- Performs management duties including, but not limited to, hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports. Fosters a positive and engaged work environment. Mentors associates and gives guidance on associate development.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent related work experience
- 20+ years accounting/finance experience to include:
- 10+ years in a finance role
- 10+ years' experience in capital management, capital markets interactions, industry transactions
- Insurance industry experience
- 10+ years management experience
- Master’s Degree
- CPA certification
- 10+ years insurance/reinsurance accounting experience
- Insurance operational experience (retail or institutional product development or knowledge of product performance, understanding of distribution channels, multiple legal entities, local regulatory view beyond the US)
- Experience with capital markets activities and forms of alternative capital
- Knowledge of capital optimization strategies
- Experience in legal entity management and governance practices
- Knowledge of insurance accounting and financial statements/reports, SEC Reporting practices, US GAAP and Regulatory accounting, and various financial management-reporting practices.
- Advanced knowledge of finance-related practices; capital management; and transactions.
- Advanced people management skills, demonstrating an ability to lead, mentor and develop associates.
- Exceptional ability to implement organizational, divisional and/or departmental vision and goals that result in achievement and success through exceptional leadership skills, collaboration, creative thinking, maintaining focus, and persistence, even under adversity, while maintaining the confidence of management and associates.

Position OverviewLeads, manages and directs corporate financial functions of treasury, including operational goals surrounding risk management, foreign exchange exposure, custody of funds, compliance, Institutional products and cash management. Responsible for the execution and analysis of capital management activities including capital markets activity (debt, hybrid, equity raises; Institutional products (FABN), share repurchases). Establishes worldwide credit facilities, oversees the investment of operational cash and assists in the prudent management of derivatives within RGA. Evaluates value propositions, engages in strategic discussions and drives potential deals to completion. Oversees the functions of the Treasury Department, Global Accounts Payable, Global Travel, Procurement, and Capital Raising. Ensures alignment and coordination with all other areas of the company to execute on corporate business strategies and vision.

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
