      Position Summary:

      Reporting to the Chief Information and Technology Officer, the SVP – Enterprise Data Strategy and Governance Leader (EDS and GL) is a hands-on data enthusiast who drives business value for the organization through the design and execution of the data strategy.

      Responsible for establishing & maintaining the organization’s data strategy, governance policy & procedures, ensuring data quality & managing the data lifecycle, the SVP – EDS and GL report directly to the Chief Information & Technology Officer and work closely with business leaders to drive data-driven decision making and strategy. Acting as a working leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, the SVP – EDS and GL will have a critical role in a critical role in maximizing the value of the organization’s data assets and driving innovation while developing a high-performing team.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Develops and executes the data strategy and roadmap that supports the overall enterprise strategy and business objectives.
      • Oversees data quality management processes, and ensures data is accurate, consistent, and reliable across the company. Defines data principles, policies, procedures and ensures regulatory and legal compliance.
      • Leads the development of data-driven insights and decision-making, leveraging advanced analytics and data science techniques.
      • Responsible for data architecture, governance controls, sanitization, and integration to support data-driven decision-making.
      • Leads identification of opportunities to extract data-driven insights from the current organization architecture and aids in selecting additional data products to drive growth.
      • Always designs with data quality, security, and compliance regulations in mind.
      • Manages the organization’s application roadmap, reducing complexity and redundancy to achieve efficiency and cost maximization.
      • Challenges the status quo and thinks outside the box to generate unique ideas and solutions to challenges.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      Education: An undergraduate degree in data science, computer science, information technology, business, or related discipline and or equivalent work and educational experience is required. Data-focused master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

      Experience:

      15 or more years of total experience, including cross-functional experience is required. At least 10 years of progressive experience in data management, data governance, and analytics is required.

      Additional Preferred Experience:

      • Financial industry experience
      • Team Management experience
      • Demonstrated experience identifying gaps and taking steps towards improving people, processes, and programs and using technology to augment and automate
      • Hands-on Expertise in key cloud-based data governance (e.g. Collibra) and/or data warehousing tools like Snowflake

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Excellent understanding of a wide variety of Cloud-based data management tools, processes, and technologies
      • Deep knowledge of one of the 3 Big Cloud Providers, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Goggle Cloud (GCP)
      • Creative self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to succeed
      • Strong project, time, and resource management and problem-solving skills to ensure efficient, effective execution and deliver desired outcomes on time in a fast-paced environment
      • Highly skilled at operating at the enterprise level and building a team and function from scratch to support the enterprise
      • Ability to influence across the organization.

      Physical Demands and Work Environment:

      • While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to stand, walk, and sit.
      • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
      • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
      • Our company offers a dynamic hybrid work arrangement, which requires three days on-site in the Sugar Land, TX office. Our retail roles are required to be onsite at the branch locations.
