- Develop and lead an integrated strategic communications plan to elevate Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta’s brand and increase awareness of its programs and impact among key internal and external audiences.
- Oversee crisis communications in conjunction with the Executive Leadership Team.
- Lead internal communications strategies to engage and inform staff and ensure alignment with the mission and major organizational priorities.
- Serve on the Executive Leadership Team, offering strategic guidance on communication-related decisions and initiatives.
- Partner with the Board Marketing Committee to plan, implement, and evaluate long-term marketing strategies and outcomes.
- Develop and manage the Marketing & Communications department budget; ensure alignment with organizational priorities and fiscal discipline.
- Provide leadership and support to the marketing team, supervising the Creative Design Manager and Marketing Coordinator (both full-time roles), with a focus on results and accountability.
- Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with media outlets, key influencers, community leaders, and local officials.
- Build collaborative relationships with peer organizations to elevate shared youth-serving priorities.
- In collaboration with the President & CEO, support the execution of PR campaigns and strategic media engagement.
- Serve as alternate spokesperson for the organization in public-facing opportunities, including media interviews.
- Monitor media coverage and campaign performance; respond to PR issues as needed to protect and promote the organization’s reputation.
- Oversee the design, execution, and evaluation of marketing and communications strategies to support organizational goals including fundraising, recruitment, and brand awareness.
- Ensure visibility of Club activities through compelling storytelling, social media, and multimedia collateral.
- Maintain and enforce brand guidelines across the organization.
- Lead strategic market research to assess public perception and refine messaging strategies.
- Oversee the organization’s digital footprint, including website and social platforms, ensuring growth, engagement, and alignment with brand identity.
- Align communications plans with BGCMA’s broader strategic plan and mission.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in marketing and communications.
- Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in nonprofit communications or resource development.
- Proven success managing teams, budgets, and cross-functional campaigns.
- Strong understanding of fundraising and marketing strategies within nonprofit environments.
- Experience working with or in support of youth-serving organizations highly preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive writing.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, board members, volunteers, community groups, and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Knowledge of donor management and CRM platforms is a plus (RE NXT has been removed based on system alignment).
The Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications provides strategic leadership and direction for internal and external communications, marketing, branding, and public relations. This role works closely with the President & CEO (serving as the designated spokesperson) and acts as the alternate spokesperson for the organization as needed. The SVP also collaborates with the Board of Directors, marketing and development teams, and fellow members of the Executive Leadership Team to advance visibility, drive resource development, support staff and youth recruitment, and strengthen internal communications.

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position follows a hybrid work model, with an expectation of regular presence in the Support Center and at Club locations, based on organizational needs. Work includes occasional evenings and weekends to support Club hours and key events. Frequent interaction with team members across departments and sites is required. Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods, walking, and occasional light lifting (up to 20 pounds).
