      Role Summary/Purpose:

      The SVP, Strategic Initiatives – Synchrony Bank, is an exciting new role that will report to the SVP, Head of Synchrony Bank. This role will lead a multi-year journey to build enhanced capabilities necessary for the growth goals of the Bank.

      We’re proud to offer you choice and flexibility. You have the option to be remote, and work from home, or come into one of our offices. You may be occasionally requested to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events.

      Essential Responsibilities:

      • Manage the Bank reset and strategic growth initiatives, coordinating across key cross-functional projects and ensuring alignment between stakeholders

      • Oversee critical cross-functional projects and programs to ensure on-time achievement of key strategic goals (e.g., implementing operating rhythms, upgrading process and systems, product launches, capability building)

      • Support the GM in risk management, especially by escalating roadblocks and challenges ahead of time to bolster preparedness (e.g., regularly track KPIs, conduct QBRs)

      • Lead a team in the development of a cohesive and holistic growth journey for the Bank organization, with an emphasis on processes, tools and change management

      • Craft compelling strategies and drive long-range strategic planning; primary point of contact for the delivery of strategic growth initiatives

      • Assess the current and future state of business systems, data availability, models, reporting needs and requirements to ensure that the strategic initiative is aligned with and/or helps drive business changes

      • Set priorities for the initiatives, thinking through the best use of resources and time to achieve an optimal result

      • Drive the implementation of the growth roadmap/priorities, including working with teams across the organization

      • Lead, develop and inspire a team

      • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

      Qualifications/Requirements:

      • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 10+ years' experience, or in lieu of a degree, 14+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams in the consumer banking industry

      • Minimum 5 years’ experience driving decision making in a matrixed environment

      • Demonstrated strategic agility (ability to see ahead clearly, anticipate future consequences and trends accurately, broad knowledge and perspective, future oriented, can articulately paint credible pictures and visions of possibilities and likelihoods, can create competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans)

      • Proven record of delivering on ambitious goals by managing across complex stakeholders

      Grade/Level: 15

      Eligibility Requirements:

      • You must be 18 years or older

      • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

      • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

      • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

      • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
