      Reports To: Superintendent of Schools
      FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Full-Time or Part-Time, as determined)
      Position Type: 12-Month Position

      Job Summary:

      The Public Engagement, Outreach & Executive Support position is a vital role that blends strategic communication and public relations with high-level administrative support. This position is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies to promote positive district engagement, while also providing confidential, professional administrative support to the Superintendent and Business Office. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative, and proactive—someone who takes initiative, brings fresh ideas to the table, and thrives in both collaborative and independent work environments.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      Public Engagement & Outreach (50%)

      • Coordinate district communication efforts including newsletters, press releases, social media, website updates, and other public-facing materials.
      • Serve as liaison to media and community partners; respond to public inquiries and coordinate media coverage of school events and initiatives.
      • Develop and maintain a consistent district brand and voice across all communication channels.
      • Support the planning and execution of district events, community forums, and engagement campaigns.
      • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic communication plans, particularly around bond/levy issues, district accomplishments, and emergency messaging.
      • Monitor public sentiment and provide creative solutions to improve outreach and engagement.

      Executive Support (50%)

      • Provide confidential and professional administrative support to the Superintendent and Business Office.
      • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes as needed.
      • Draft, proofread, and manage correspondence, reports, and board documentation.
      • Support logistical preparation for board meetings, leadership team meetings, and district-wide communications.
      • Maintain and organize confidential files, records, and documents with discretion and accuracy.
      • Serve as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, providing prompt and courteous responses to requests for information.

      Qualifications:

      • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
      • Proven experience in public relations, executive administrative support, or a related role.
      • Demonstrated creativity in communication, problem-solving, and engagement strategies.
      • Self-starter with strong initiative, able to work independently and anticipate needs.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, social media platforms, and website content management systems.
      • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
      • Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.

      Working Conditions:

      • Office setting with occasional evening or weekend work for events or board meetings.
      • Fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines.
      • Interaction with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including staff, families, board members, media, and community partners.
