      Job Description

      SUMMARY

      The Data Center Infrastructure Team is responsible for managing Expeditors essential infrastructure. This infrastructure provides Expeditors the global connectivity, compute power, backups and storage to meet its growing demand to move freight. The Backup Administrator is responsible for the backup monitoring, support, troubleshooting, installation, and deployment of Cohesity and Commvault Backup systems.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Hands-on experience with Hitachi Data Protection Suite, Commvault, and Cohesity backup platforms.
      • Strong understanding of backup and recovery strategies, including data protection, retention, and restoration practices.
      • Proficient in configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining backup policies, schedules, and job monitoring.
      • Perform hardware maintenance, repairs, & replacements
      • Deep understanding of data protection workflows, including full, incremental, differential, and synthetic backups.
      • Experience with recovery methods, including point-in-time recovery, bare-metal restore, and disaster recovery (DR) processes.
      • Familiarity with deduplication and compression techniques to optimize storage and backup performance.
      • Ability to proactively monitor backup job performance, resolve failures, and ensure consistent success rates.
      • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving backup-related issues such as missed jobs, incomplete backups, and failed restores.
      • Ability to optimize backup performance by fine-tuning parameters, troubleshooting bottlenecks, and enhancing overall system efficiency.
      • Experience with load balancing and backup throughput optimization.
      • Configuring and managing Auxiliary copy backups from Disk to tapes
      • Firmware upgrade activities with respect to the backup environment.

      Qualifications

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

      • Experience with Cohesity backup solutions
      • Experience with Commvault backup solutions
      • Ability to work collaboratively in an agile team environment
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • Knowledge of backup strategies and products
      • An aptitude for methodical and comprehensive troubleshooting
      • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience

      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Experience with agile (SAFe) project planning
      • Practiced in designing and implementing business continuity / disaster recovery and high availability plans
      • Ability to assess backup storage requirements and plan for capacity expansion based on growing data volumes.
      • Experience with managing backup storage hardware, including tape libraries and disk arrays.
      • Good to have knowledge on Service Now handling and Cloud Solutions
