This team works with constantly evolving technology and contributes to securing the infrastructure, modernizing our meeting space across the country, and leading any new Microsoft product deployment for NAV CANADA.

      Job Description

      Key Accountabilities:

      A day in the life of a System Administrator

      • Manage Active Directory Domain Services, including Azure AD, GPO, DNS, LDAP, to ensure the services are healthy and up to date
      • Administer Microsoft 365 Platform and services, including SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Office 365 and other collaboration apps
      • Manage unified communication systems and services, including MS Exchange/Online and MS Teams
      • Provide third level support to technical teams across the organisation related to problems with authentication, identity, messaging, productivity and collaboration platforms, and mobile management systems
      • As subject-matter expert, work with system owners and administrators to resolve issues that require a cross-functional solution
      • Design, plan, implement and test system configuration, interface and interconnection.
      • Research and advise on best practices and requirements related to security, implementation, and configuration of Client Computing services.
      • Consult with other disciplines and clients to build cross-functional relationships to gain support
      • Review and evaluate enhancements or changes for operational viability, recommending the acceptance or rejection of requests for change
      • Using PowerShell, automate common or repetitive tasks and provide scripts to support the reporting, configuration, and maintenance of systems and processes
      • Monitor and provide incident and change requests support to ensure service levels are met.

      Education:

      • A college diploma or university degree from a recognized institution in the field of computer science or information systems, or relevant combination of education, training and work experience

      Experience:

      • 3+ years administering and supporting Domain Services, Access and Identity management, unified communication and collaboration platforms while following structured change control processes within large Enterprise-level environments.
      • Experience in technologies and tools related to the systems and applications under the position responsibility including MS Active Directory, MS Azure Active Directory, MS Exchange/Online, MS PowerShell, M365 platform and products, in a cloud-only and/or hybrid deployments
      • Experience in the design, implementation, testing and support of infrastructure and client computing technology components
      • Experience with IT frameworks and process including ITIL, Incident Management, Change Management, Quality Management, Project Management, Patch Management and Life-cycle processes and guidelines.
      • Experience developing and maintaining communications, technical documentation including architecture and design documents, test and implementation plans, processes, procedures,
      • maintenance, and support documents related to client computing systems

      Knowledge

      • Extensive knowledge of the design, support, life cycle of shared infrastructure services and client computing technology.
      • Knowledge of industry trends and developments with respect to existing and evolving infrastructure and client computing technologies, productivity tools, and related emerging trends and practices
      • Extensive knowledge of the design, support, life cycle and industry trends for shared infrastructure services and client computing technology.
      • Extensive knowledge of supporting mobility management, messaging and identity management environments including software, hardware, network, OS, policies and configurations
      • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure and system configuration, management tools and technologies

      Abilities:

      • Identify, diagnose and resolve complex and varied problems in a fast-paced work environment
      • Provide expert advice, guidance, and opinions in area of specialization, through knowledge sharing, coaching, mentoring and creative thinking
      • Excellent analytical skills to assess, test, troubleshoot, determine root cause, and recommend new courses of actions/process improvement.
      • Strong communication, problem solving, and customer service skills

      This position is based at the Ottawa Logistics Center but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
