      Leidos has an opening for a motivated System Engineer Intern for Summer 2025, based out of our Arlington, VA office. This position offers a semi-hybrid onsite /remote (4/1) work schedule.

      The candidate will help design and improve a production system that includes a user interface for searching data and performing data analytics, a micro service architecture, and dozens of machine learning services. The candidate must have a passion for process improvement and be intellectually adaptive, inquisitive, good at expressing their needs, and self-managed when necessary. Selected candidates will work alongside software/system engineers and research/data scientists with expertise in multi-modal information retrieval, User Interface (UI) development, computer vision, metrics, information science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and autonomous systems.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Develop use cases and/or decompose requirements

      • Research and evaluate new technologies

      • Design and architect technical solutions in collaboration with teammates

      • Deliver SysML, UML, confluence, and other documentation to support feature designs

      Basic Qualifications

      • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in the field of System Engineering or related field

      • Experience with SysML or UML

      • Communicative with the ability to state their needs and be an active member of a team

      • Self-motivated and self-starter

      • US Citizenship required

      • Must have the ability of obtaining and maintaining a Secret level DoD Security Clearance

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience with Agile or Lean Agile methodologies and principles

      • Experience with software development lifecycle and/or understanding of DevOps principles

      • Hands-on experience with Git

      Pay Range:

      Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00

      The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
