      Description

      DecisiveInstincts, LLC has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Engineer SME requiring a Top Secret clearance and the ability to work remotely.
      In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of efficient LAN/WAN networks using TCP/IP principles, including hardware management, security administration, and troubleshooting. You will evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance network performance and cost-effectiveness.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      • Apply Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) routing and switching principles to practical solutions
      • Perform multi-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving
      • Configure, maintain, and upgrade LAN/WAN design and topology
      • Install/configure LAN/WAN hardware and maintain wiring closets and nomenclature
      • Manage Cisco and other hardware, including consumer-grade routers and switches
      • Monitor with standard network management and packet analysis tools
      • Plan, implement, and administer perimeter security and firewalling
      • Evaluate new technologies and make design recommendations for a more efficient and cost-effective network infrastructure

      Basic Qualifications

      • 2–5 years of experience with firewall configuration and load balancing
      • Understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and other common protocols
      • Expert knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
      • Proficient in all aspects of Virtual Private Network (VPN) design and configurations
      • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and troubleshooting connectivity issues
      • Expert-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving
      • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and SAFe

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Enterprise Infrastructure preferred
