Job Description

- Apply Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) routing and switching principles to practical solutions
- Perform multi-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem solving
- Configure, maintain, and upgrade LAN/WAN design and topology
- Install/configure LAN/WAN hardware and maintain wiring closets and nomenclature
- Manage Cisco and other hardware, including consumer-grade routers and switches
- Monitor with standard network management and packet analysis tools
- Plan, implement, and administer perimeter security and firewalling
- Evaluate new technologies and make design recommendations for a more efficient and cost-effective network infrastructure
- 2–5 years of experience with firewall configuration and load balancing
- Understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and other common protocols
- Expert knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
- Proficient in all aspects of Virtual Private Network (VPN) design and configurations
- Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Expert-level troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, and SAFe
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – Enterprise Infrastructure preferred

DecisiveInstincts, LLC has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Engineer SME requiring a Top Secret clearance and the ability to work remotely.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of efficient LAN/WAN networks using TCP/IP principles, including hardware management, security administration, and troubleshooting.
