- Provide Integration and Test leadership to one or more of the following: the satellite bus, RF payloads, optical payloads, custom ground terminals, or custom user terminals.
- Specify and develop end-to-end payload or sub-system integration and test plans to validate performance against customer and/or partner requirements
- Create test algorithms, scripts, and calibration routines as part of performing lab and field evaluation of integrated payloads or sub-systems
- Analyze test data and engage with others in Kuiper, customers, suppliers, or partners to evaluate the product performance and provide proactive feedback on potential improvements.
- Architect, design, and validate support equipment necessary to enable test execution and requirements verification
- Prepare reports documenting test results, test coverage and other KPI metrics, and communicate issues effectively with developers and managers
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, computer science or similar field
- 5+ years of integration and test or related industry experience
- 4+ years of experience developing code in Matlab, LabVIEW, C, C++, or Python, and experience with industry standard coding practices
- Experience with SATCOM payloads or systems in space and/or on the ground, Aerospace, or related industry
- Master’s Degree or PhD in engineering, physics, computer science, or similar field
- High sense of ownership, urgency, and drive; resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in development, integration, and commissioning of satellite communication systems
- Experience writing end to end and continuous integration and test plans
- Experience performing, executing, and approving formal acceptance tests
- Broad knowledge and experience in multiple disciplines related to satellite or space systems, including design, integration, test, operation, maintenance, and configuration/data management
- Experience with communication and electrical system test equipment such as Vector Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Signal Generators, Power Supplies, and Oscilloscopes
- Detailed knowledge of satellite communication link budgets (RF or Optical)
- Experience with analytics software such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Grafana
- Experience with Analog and Digital Fiber Optics
- Experience with lasers, detectors, modulators, optical fiber and devices, testing and characterization
- Experience with optical metrology for component and system test and qualification.
- Familiarity with software development and hardware integration related to satellite payloads or ground systems
- Experience supporting system engineering of space and/or ground systems development efforts including meeting cost, schedule, and performance goals.
- Demonstrated experience working with government agencies

Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Kuiper Solutions Engineering team (KSET) is a multi-disciplinary technology team involved in developing and delivering targeted and scalable solutions for custom satellite and ground applications. The Solutions Engineering team works closely with the core Kuiper team, and addresses the needs of specific customers (such as government agencies).
The System Integration & Test (I&T) engineer will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to design, integrate, and test innovative product solutions. The System I&T Engineer will work closely with colleagues throughout Project Kuiper’s inter-disciplinary team and collaborate with key partners and suppliers in order to ensure our system exceeds customer expectations. The System I&T Engineer must be responsive, flexible, innovative, and able to succeed within a collaborative, fast-paced, and dynamic environment.
As a member of KSET, the System I&T engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the integration, verification, and validation of one or more of the following: the satellite bus, RF payloads, optical payloads, custom ground terminals, or custom user terminals. This includes testing, analyzing, and optimizing the particular satellite or ground element being developed, and ensuring that it meets the needs of the specific customer and/or target application. Testing efforts include functional and performance testing through various environmental conditions as required to ensure system integrity. Responsibilities also include the design and test of support equipment necessary to enable efficient test execution and requirements verification.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working on large-scale programs with a diverse set of talented individuals, as well as with partner organizations (including government agencies).

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
