      The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill two regular, full-time positions in the class of Systems Software Specialist at the Innovation and Technology Services Department. The selected candidate will be placed at either the Systems Software Specialist I or II level depending on their qualifications and experience. The salary range for the classification level I and II are as follows:
      Systems Software Specialist I: $94,286 – $114,608 Annually
      Systems Software Specialist II: $103,646 – $125,985 Annually

      We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced data & analytics specialist to join our team. As a Systems Software Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Data Lake/Warehouse, Business Intelligence, reports, and data analytics systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Data Lake/Warehousing technologies, Business Intelligence tools, and data analytics, with expertise in Amazon Data Lake, Infor Birst, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SQL and Oracle Database Systems.

      Primary responsibilities fall within four broad areas at differing levels of individual responsibility.

      Data Architecture:
      - Knowledge of building data orchestration and pipelines.
      - Understanding of metadata management, data modeling & design, data integration, data lineage, data catalog and related tools.
      - Design, develop, and maintain the Data Lake/Warehouse infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization.
      - Implement data modeling techniques and data integration processes to support efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) operations.
      - Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure data quality and consistency.
      - Monitor and troubleshoot Data Lake/Warehouse performance issues, implementing necessary optimizations.

      Business Intelligence (BI) Development:
      - Develop and maintain interactive reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI, Infor Birst or other BI tools.
      - Ability to understand the data needs of data users and quickly translate complex technical concepts into simplified business terms.
      - Ability to transform complex data into easy-to-understand visual insights that are aligned to business objectives.
      - Implement data cubes, data mining, and advanced analytics techniques to support decision-making processes.
      - Collaborate with business users to understand their analytical needs and provide training and support on BI tools.

      Data Analytics:
      - Perform data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.
      - Proficiency in SQL query language and able to use many query tools
      - Utilize data visualization techniques to communicate analytical findings and insights effectively.
      - Identify opportunities for process improvements and data-driven decision-making.
      - Develop predictive models and implement machine learning algorithms to support forecasting and predictive analytics.

      Report Generation:
      - Design and generate reports based on business requirements using various reporting tools.
      - Extract and manipulate data from multiple sources to generate accurate and meaningful reports.
      - Automate report generation processes and ensure timely delivery of reports to stakeholders.
      - Perform data analysis on reports to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.

      Technical Expertise:
      - Possess a deep understanding of Amazon Data Lake, Infor Birst, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle Database Systems to effectively leverage these technologies.
      - Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Data Lake/Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and data analytics fields.
      - Provide technical guidance and expertise to the team and other stakeholders.

      Systems Software Specialist I

      Experience: Three years experience configuring, installing, upgrading, maintaining, diagnosing, analyzing and resolving problems relating to network software systems.

      Systems Software Specialist II

      Experience: Four years of experience configuring, installing, upgrading, maintaining, diagnosing, analyzing and resolving problems relating to network software systems.

      Background Requirements
      Incumbents in this class may have access to Federal Tax Information and are subject to confidentiality and safeguarding requirements of Internal Revenue Code 6103(p)(4). As such, an individual selected for this position is subject to a thorough background investigation as stipulated in Section 5.1.1 of Internal Revenue Service Publication 1075, which includes the following:

      1. Review of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint results;
      2. Check of local law enforcement agencies where the subject has lived, worked and/or attended school within the last five (5) years and, if applicable, of the appropriate agency for any identified arrests; and
      3. Verification of an employee's eligibility to work in the United States.

      Background investigations are conducted upon hire and every ten (10) years of employment thereafter.

      License
