BAE Systems is looking for a Systems Administrator/Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support Specialist Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join a strong team supporting our government customer. The Systems Administrator/Cyber Defense Infrastructure Support SpecialistSME will:

• Coordinate with Cyber Defense Analysts to manage and administer the updating of rules and signatures for specialized cyber defense applications.
• Perform system administration on specialized cyber defense applications and systems and Virtual Private Network (VPN) devices, to include installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration.
• Assist in identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating the protection of critical cyber defense infrastructure and key resources.
• Build, install, configure, and test dedicated cyber defense hardware.
• Assist in assessing the impact of implementing and sustaining a dedicated cyber defense infrastructure.
• Implement Risk Management Framework (RMF)/Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) requirements for dedicated cyber defense systems within the enterprise, and document and maintain records for them.

Required Skills and Education

• Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
• Performs the following kinds of functions: Initiates, supervises, and/or develops requirements from a project’s inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs; Provides strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff; Provides detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues; Consults with client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions.
• Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
• May supervise others.
• Experience with Linux-based environment administration.
• Experience with testing, implementing, deploying, maintaining, and administering infrastructure hardware and software for cybersecurity.
• Experience developing, creating, modifying, and maintaining computer applications, software, or specialized utility programs for cybersecurity.

Preferred Skills and Education

Preferred experience:

• Experience integrating third-party components, the introduction of new custom capabilities, modification of existing code, process improvement recommendation, and automation of operations and maintenance tasks.
• Experience with Splunk, Oracle/SQL based platforms, and Python

• RedHat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate
