Job Title: Systems Administrator Report to: Director of Technology Dept/Campus: Technology Wages Status : Exempt Pay Grade: Professional - PG 4 Days: 240 Primary Purpose: The Employee is directed to maintain the operation of the district’s computer and information systems. Employee will install, test and maintain server hardware, software, and related equipment. The Systems Administrator, under the direction of the Director of Technology, will provide management support for the hardware and software directly involved in the student learning environment. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma required Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in IT related area preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Strong working knowledge of Microsoft server and Microsoft Active Directory Skill with various versions of Group Policy, PowerShell, and other tools associated with managing an Active Directory Environment Working knowledge of PC operating systems, including Windows 10 and 11 Working knowledge of various software applications including Adobe Creative Cloud for Teams, Microsoft Azure and other Microsoft Enterprise Apps Experience with virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper V Knowledge and experience with the administration of Schoology LMS Knowledge of Laserfiche Business Process Design and Laserfiche Records Knowledge of Clever data connector application Knowledge of Hello ID identity access management tool Ability to communicate with users outside the department with tact, good judgment and confidentiality Ability to work with multiple operating systems, such as Windows, OS X, Linux and iOS Strong knowledge of disaster recovery, data safety and integrity, and development of bulk import/export procedures Knowledge of enterprise printer management in a Windows Server environment Experience: 5+ years of experience performing system installation, upgrades, management and maintenance 2+ years of experience of server administration and support preferred Essential Job Functions: Manage administration of 3rd party cloud based applications Assist with the installation and monitoring of district-wide security on desktop computers Assist with documentation of standard system configurations Assist with design, revision and implementation of a disaster recovery plan and documentation of standard system configurations Assist with the management of Microsoft Azure and administration of Microsoft EES Assist with the management of the district’s Google Workspace for Education instance Daily reporting and system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources and key processes Manage document archival systems, and work with senior systems staff on identifying improvements and upgrades to the systems Administer and manage business workflow management system and provide staff support as needed Manage district wide print management system Administer and support Adobe Applications, both desktop and Creative Cloud for Teams Provide administration and creation of user specialty accounts for systems access Provide user level training for systems and appropriate usage of the systems and data Manage district LMS administration and provide end user support Ensure security measures are in place and all necessary auditing tools are being monitored and acted upon Work with other senior systems staff on auditing requests to provide accurate system information Provide assistance to lead technicians and tier II systems support to identify and correct equipment and software related problems Manage multiple technology-based projects while working under general guidance Must communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing Must be able to work with a variety of people Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy Dependable performance requires reliable and dependable attendance Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position Professional Conduct: Maintain professional interactions with staff, parents, community and visitors Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and withstand pressures Demonstrate flexibility to change in routine and adapt quickly to changing situations Demonstrates respect, courteousness to peers and visitors, and assist fellow workers willingly Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment used: Personal/laptop computer, printer, copier, fax machine, shredder, calculator, and telephone, electronic mobile devices, projector, display monitor computer, related repair and other technology equipment Physical Demands /Mental Demands/ Environmental Factors: The working conditions described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Some weekends and evening hours may be required. Work environment includes typical computer related noise levels and paper and equipment generated dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Incumbent is on call to provide support services during off hours. Periodically scheduled night and weekend work is required. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding and use of peripheral equipment. Employees carry out system and network administration functions independently, with a sound understanding of the interactions between hardware, operating system software and network operations and the design and administrative requirements to ensure an efficient, reliable, secure infrastructure. The employee is expected to bring projects to conclusion, including development of operating procedures, instruction and training, and required documentation. Work is performed, and technical decisions made with some latitude for independent judgment. Regularly perform multiple, highly complex tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions and compliance with legal guidelines.
