      The Systems Analyst I will support Public Works in the Public Infrastructure Community of Interest. The selected candidate will:

      • Support and follow the direction of the Public Works Technology Team Lead
      • Division centric strategic analyst that analyzes and evaluates current and existing business processes, existing programs, and applications
      • Primary project resource for system implementations and upgrades
      • Complete/update Application Lifecycle documents for the respective division’s applications
      • Develop reports and dashboards for customers. Assist users with data and reporting requirements and design report formats to satisfy user needs
      • Analyze user requests for new or improved computer information systems; Assist Senior Analysts; Research current technologies in computer systems to recommend solutions to user problems or needs
      • Provide end user support and assist with the resolution of application/system issues to include change management, root cause analysis and appropriate escalation as needed
      • Review, evaluate, and analyze existing applications to define problems and information processing requirement
      • Modify existing software to improve operations, consolidate programs, reduce complexity, or otherwise improve information system operations
      • Provide system and network administration and security; control user access to systems; add/delete users and assign passwords as required
      • Attend in-service training and technical or professional classes, seminars, or conferences to improve technical or professional skills
      • Develop an understanding of assigned PW divisions, work performed in each division, and technology used in each division
      • Interact and communicate with Public Works Division Leads
      • Conduct and manage application upgrades according to application life cycle recommendations
      • Manage and maintain application/system licenses
      • Manage and maintain the catalog of systems, applications, and computer equipment within the assigned Public Works Division(s)
      • Configure existing software to meet or improve business operations, consolidate programs, reduce complexity, or otherwise improve operations
      • Complete requirements process including elicitation, analysis, and specifications; Documentation of functional and non-functional requirements
      • Develop diagrams and flowcharts for system design, under the direction of the Senior Analyst, prepare troubleshooting guides and corrective action plans
      • Define and develop test plans, scenarios, test scripts and test cases, and manages the artifacts and process within the quality assurance framework
      • Research the capability of various systems; participate in the testing and debugging of programs and systems; execute tests and observe behavior of the system to validate performance
      • Support existing Public Works applications of the assigned Public Works Division. Applications may include but are not limited to, Microsoft Access, Salesforce, Cartegraph, AssetWorks, FleetFocus, AutoCAD, Bentley, GIS, MasterWorks, SharePoint, and Public Works Websites
      • Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge, and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on current workloads and department needs
      • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
