- An undergraduate or master degree, ideally in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, but other academic backgrounds will be considered with relevant experience
- A good understanding of computer architecture concepts
- Strong C or C++ programming skills
- Proficiency in a high-level shell or scripting language such as Python
- Experience with software development in a Linux environment
- Flexibility and a willingness to work with new tools
- Ability to communicate clearly with both expert and non-expert audiences
- Experience with embedded systems, device drivers, operating systems, hypervisors, etc.
- Experience with firmware technologies: UEFI, u-boot, ACPI, device trees
- Experience with Git
- Knowledge of hardware microarchitecture concepts
- Knowledge of security concepts
- Personal projects and/or contributions to open-source projects
The Architecture and Technology Group within Arm is responsible for exploring, developing, and driving the direction of Arm’s products in the next 3 to 5 years. As part of this group, you will play an essential role in understanding industry trends and developing architectures and standards for the next generation computing devices for the markets that we participate in, including mobile, server, networking, IoT, embedded, and automotive. System architecture teams work closely with experts across all technology groups at Arm, with our partners, and with industry consortiums.
Job Description:
The Systems Architecture Standards team in ATG defines architectures and standards at the point where software meets hardware, with the goal of having software just work on Arm platforms. The team also operates the SystemReady compliance program to ensure that systems align with Arm standards.As a part of our team you will gain exposure to a broad set of technologies at the system-level and how they interact, including: CPUs, system level hardware components, management controllers, firmware, bootloaders, hypervisors, operating systems, and the interfaces and security of these components.
Responsibilities:
As an intern you will work with experienced system architects on projects or activities with real impact in achieving our team's goals. Job responsibilities include: development of specifications, testcase design and development, performing SystemReady certifications, system-level debugging, tool development, process automation, developing proof-of-concepts, and contributions to open source projects.Required Skills and Experience:
