  Period of Work: May-August 2025

  Full-Time: 40 hours a week on site

  Location: Tampa, FL

  In Office Requirement: 5 days a week onsite

  The N553 Department manages the United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), and the Joint Staff work programs under the N550 Division for Joint Staff and Combatant Commands. Located in Tampa, Florida, our goals are to deliver on our sponsor commitments with high technical quality, increase our operational impact and address our sponsor’s most critical challenges while growing a strong innovative team that can meet the sponsor’s needs and adheres to MITRE’s core values.

  Job Responsibilities:

  • Digital Engineering Modeling (SYSML)
  • Data Visualization
  • Data Management
  • Data Analysis
  • Python, C++, Java

  Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in Data Engineering, Software Engineering, System Engineering, or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
  • Sustained excellence in academic performance
  • Must have ability to adapt and want to learn diverse engineering disciplines and problem solving

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in the department of defense problem space
  • Interest in data science and operational research
  • Experience with analytics scripting (python, etc.), modeling, simulation and analysis.
  • Demonstrated interest in serving the public
