      Graebel Companies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Manager, Systems Engineer to lead and support the IT Infrastructure team. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise and leadership capabilities to manage daily operations, strategic technology initiatives, and ensure the stability and evolution of Graebel’s hybrid IT infrastructure. As Manager, you will oversee systems engineering activities, manage team resources, drive improvements across security, networking, cloud, and data center operations, and act as a key liaison to the Director of IT Infrastructure.

      We are committed to fair and transparent compensation. The salary range for this role is based on several factors including experience, skills, and qualifications and is $130,000 to $170,000 CAD .

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Lead and mentor the Systems Engineering team, ensuring effective support and professional growth.
      • Oversee daily operations, troubleshooting, and strategic technology initiatives in collaboration with the Director of IT Infrastructure.
      • Provide Tier 3 escalation support and guidance for complex enterprise systems and infrastructure challenges.
      • Manage and optimize virtualization platforms, focusing on HyperV 2019 environments.
      • Drive the design, deployment, and maintenance of hybrid cloud infrastructure (Storage, Compute, Network) spanning on-premises, Azure, and AWS.
      • Direct configuration and management of networking components including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, switches, routers, and firewalls (Palo Alto, Meraki, Cisco), as well as cloud networking (VNETs, VPCs).
      • Lead the security management efforts involving Palo Alto Firewalls, Palo Alto Prisma Access, and endpoint protection with CrowdStrike.
      • Oversee hybrid identity environments leveraging Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD), including SSO and MFA policy enforcement.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues spanning SQL, Terraform, Data Warehouse, Databricks, Power BI, and custom applications.
      • Ensure smooth integration and support of Office 365 services including Exchange Online and Teams.
      • Implement proactive infrastructure monitoring, incident management, and problem resolution processes.
      • Participate in technology evaluations, solution architecture, implementation planning, and vendor management.
      • Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of systems, processes, and policies.
      • Lead data center infrastructure operations including management of NetApp storage, LUNs, and physical maintenance activities.
      • Manage on-call support schedules, ensuring team readiness and responsiveness.

      Required Skills

      • Proven leadership experience managing systems engineering or IT infrastructure teams.
      • Strong technical expertise with HyperV 2019, Azure, AWS, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
      • In-depth knowledge of security technologies, especially Palo Alto Firewalls and CrowdStrike endpoint protection.
      • Advanced networking skills, including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, switches, routers, and firewall management; CCNA or equivalent preferred.
      • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), hybrid identity management, and access protocols such as SSO and MFA.
      • Familiarity with infrastructure automation and management tools like Terraform.
      • Experience supporting enterprise SQL environments, Data Warehousing, Databricks, and Power BI integrations.
      • Demonstrated ability to support Office 365 and related enterprise collaboration tools.
      • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
      • Ability to balance hands-on technical work with team leadership and strategic planning.
      • Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.

      Required Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
      • 5+ years in IT infrastructure or systems engineering roles with 2+ years in a leadership/management capacity.
      • Certifications such as:
        • AWS Certified Solutions Architect / SysOps Administrator
        • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate / Enterprise Admin Expert
        • CCNA or equivalent networking certification
        • ITIL Foundation Certification

The targets for this role are dependent on market/ geographic location and range from $130,000 to $170,000 CAD.
